The Maison du Fier and the natural reserve of Lilleau des Niges

The House of the Proud

A stone's throw from the Lilleau des Niges Nature Reserve, the Maison du Fier is managed by the LPO (League for the Protection of Birds). It is a museum space dedicated to the natural heritage of the Ile de Ré. Installed in a former salt shed steeped in history, it hosts permanent and temporary exhibitions on the fauna, flora and landscapes of the island...

Access to the outdoor track is free all year round and allows you to discover a wide variety of species! From there, you can also start your exploration on the pedestrian or cycle paths on the edge of the Lilleau des Niges Nature Reserve.

So, go for a walk, binoculars slung over your shoulders accompanied by a nature guide from the LPO and discover the biodiversity of the region, then finish off in style by going to the shop to bring back a nature gift for your loved ones!

Lilleau des Niges

Managed by the LPO on the Ile de Ré, the Lilleau des Niges National Nature Reserve welcomes thousands of migratory or sedentary birds every year…

Discover this natural heritage thanks to discovery circuits to observe the birds of the marshes, the flora of the dunes, the small animals which inhabit the coast. Nature trails all over the island, bike rides...
and close to the Reserve, you can visit the Maison du Fier!

Visit scheduled in advance, reservation required.
